Pahari
Jubo Forum's 2th Central Council Sessions in Chittagong
The
Pahari Jubo Forum (Hill Youth Forum), a front organisation
of the United Democratic Front, will hold its 2nd central
council session tomorrow May 13 in Chittagong.
Earlier
the council was scheduled to be held on April 5 in Lakshmichari
in Khagrachari district, but it had to be postponed at
the last minute as the military threatened not to hold
it there. The PJF Leaders hurriedly called a press conference
in Chittagong press club and narrated to the journalists
how the army prevented them from holding the council sessions
in Lakshmichari.
The
council session will start at 10 a. m. tomorrow. More
than one hundred twenty delegates from across the Chittagong
Hill Tracts as well as from Dhaka and Chittagong are expected
to attend the session. It will be presided over by Apu
Chakma, president of the organisation, and will review
the activities undertaken during the last one year. The
council delegates will also elect a new central committee
for the next one-year term.
The
council session will be followed by a rally, which will
parade main streets of the port city.
